Happenings in February...

Sadly the months are slipping away fast here at our house.  Thank you to all who still follow along our blog.  I know are our updates have been few and far between. So we will try to catch things up here over the next couple of days.  

We were so excited to surprise Grandma H. for her 80th birthday for a dinner.  Molly, Emily & Tori were our servers.

 We also had Pink Bean's birthday party along with 2 other of her cousins in February. 

 Since Pink Bean is not a fan of cake on her actual birthday we put candles in her favorite kind of cookie.  It's hard to believe our little girl is already 4 years old. 

 We had a girls sleep over night & (Green Bean)... sometime in February.  We always enjoy a house full of kids

Pink Bean is in love with animals.  For her birthday we gave her a horse and it was priceless to watch how excited she was.

The Big 40!

Yes - Because of someones BIG 40 - I got to enjoy one of the best steaks I have ever eaten in my entire life!  

 .... and Amy tried Lobster for the first time....

 all because the best parents in the WORLD - 

have been married for 40 YEARS!  

 We enjoyed a relaxing evening at Don's Pomeroy for dinner and time together.  We are thankful for the great influence our  parents have been to us over the years and how they have raised us.

Cowboys & Indians - Fall Harvest Party

It was that time of year again for our Annual Fall harvest party.  This year we decided to make a theme that everyone had to dress up to instead of letting the couples pick.  We picked a Cowboy and Indian theme and had a cookout in Gpa's Woods.  JP fried Chicken and  French Fries which turned out AWESOME!  We had Apples & Caramel Dip and Carrots & Dip for a side.  We later fried FRESH apple fritters that Laura made - which were AMAZING and we made Dough Boys over the fire... which turned out like a big cream puff!  We had a couples Scavenger hunt - where they had to stay linked with each other the whole time, Apple Bobbing on a string as couples and Couples Questions which got the whole group involved and talking.  I really enjoyed this get together this year.  It was so relaxing, easy and FUN.  I didn't get everyone's couples pictures this year... but here are a few of the cowboys and Indians that showed up.

Summer Picnic - Free Flu Included!

My playgroup and I decided to have a summer picnic.  We had about 90 people that came to the picnic.  It was the highlight of my summer!!  I was very sad when it ended quickly for me because I got the Flu and ended up leaving early!  Who gets the Flu in the middle of the summer?   Not fun!  I woke up on Monday ready to party - and the party was over!!!  I couldn't even enjoy it - because I was trying to figure out if I was sick from stress or if I was really sick.  Sadly - I was really sick and it sounds like about 14 others got the flu from me that night!!!  So not only did we have an awesome turnout and people had lots of fun - I handed them the FLU!  Hmm... wonder how many will return next year for our Summer Picnic!

I wanted to take a ton of pictures - but since I was not feeling well - it was the last thing on my mind.  We had Haystacks with a Watermelon theme.  We had buckets at everyone's tables with Chips, Homemade Salsa from Joanne and Homemade Guacamole from Anne.  Everyone brought food and it went great!  We pounded through 12 lbs of Hamburger and 1 lg box and 1 sm box of Rice.  Here we thought we had plenty of meat and rice - ops!

Memorial Day

We had a wonderful HOT memorial Day.

We worked at home most of the day - but we did take a little break to

 go swim at Grandpa H, eat lunch & spend time with family.
