On Friday night we picked up our visitors from the airport. We tried to go to bed early so that we would have a good start on Saturday for our hike in the Swiss Alps. We left our house at 7:00 and got to Grindelwald, Switzerland around 10:30. It was very cloudy and misting rain. But we still wanted to go up to Mannlichen which was at 2222m high. We took the cable car up into the clouds to Mannlichen for our hike in the Mountains.
We took the Panorama Path
This was what we were supposed to see:

The impressive high-alpine path takes you on an easy (for WHO - not the Gardner's...lol) hike from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg- 1 1/2 hours (more like 4 hours one way). Walking over alpine pastures (very pretty), always facing the majestic Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau, (MOUNTAINS.. there was mountains to look at... couldn't see them) you can let your imagination run free over the rugged rock walls and icy-blue glaciers. Views extend over alpine pastures down to the Grindelwald Valley and up to Grosse Scheidegg and the jagged peaks of the Wetterhorn and Schreckhorn (yep you guessed it... couldn't see this either). Starting at Männlichen (2222 m), the path leads south along the eastern flank of the Tschuggen. Walking at the same level you reach Honegg and follow the loop skirting the lower slopes of the Lauberhorn ridge to Rotstöckli, from where it’s only a short distance (LONG distance) to Kleine Scheidegg (2061 m).
We could only see about 200m in front of us. Enough to see the cows and cow paddies! It was still fun even though we couldn't see too much.
(this picture is for G-ma Hartzler ;o)
JP didn't get enough to eat on his trip to Europe and thought he would try out the local grub in the Alps.
Kora Lily and I - she slept for most of the hike :O)
